The Kiwi
Born 1920. 60˝. Reborn in early 2019.
Named appropriately, this gorgeous tub is covered with the highest quality paua shell that was collected, cleaned and tumbled by a lovely New Zealander called Malcolm. Malcolm and his family walk every shipment to the post office themselves where the sign out front often says “Gone fishing!”. As you can see, the shell is worth waiting for. Each of the approximate 1,000 pieces of radiant paua was laid by hand and grouted with a black sand beach in mind. There is a slight sparkle to this grout. UV coated windows are recommended for the long term if you are planning to put this beauty in direct sunlight for hours a day. Although the material is hearty, the sun is powerful. The feet have been professionally powder-coated in charcoal grey.

CLEANING AND CARE:
Inside: Never use hard, gritty cleansers inside your pristine new tub! Use a gentle cleanser. Never use scratchy sponges. NO STEEL WOOL. For best results, wipe down the inside of your tub after each use.
Outside: Think of cleaning a fine piece of art or a diamond in a setting. Use a gentle chamois to clean the paua shells and shine them up with isopropyl alcohol.
NOTABLES:
Some minor pitting of most antique claw feet has occurred and you can see the 'character' through the powder coating. .
